Girls in sun dresses, with soft sun-kissed tresses. Summer is here at last - time to follow the sun. There is a fantastic range of holiday wear this season. Traditional swimsuits are in back in vogue, however, it is the iconic bikini that can, for one fleeting moment at least, make a girl feel like a movie star. Originally created in France in 1946, it was Bridgette Bardot and Hollywood starlets such as Jane Mansfield, Marliyn Monroe and Raquel Welch who helped raise the racy profile of the bikini, although nothing can quite compare to the iconic image of a glistening Ursula Andress emerging from the surf in the 1962 James Bond Film, "Dr. No". Looking a picture of health, tanned and toned in her now famous white bikini worn with a wide knife holster belt slung low on the hips. Retro two-pieces from the 50s and 60s are the must-have styles for the 2006 summer season. Bikinis with cute ruffle tops and flirty skirts, "Dr. No" style with belts, buckles and studs. Whites, brights, stripes, animal prints and black will accentuate a golden tan. In 1960 Brian Hyland was awarded his first International Gold Record with the number one hit "Itsy, Bitsy, Teenie, Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini". Polka Dot bikins are also back in fashion. More summer must-haves include Colourful Crocs Cayman, those fantastic jelly sandals loved by celebrities world wide. Great news the range now includes super ballet pumps. Ugg boots, beloved by British Wags have now introduced some super crochet versions into the range.
