of the North Devon Heritage Coast. The South West Coast Path, rises above

of Appledore, Westward Ho, Bucks Mills, and Clovelly. The small town of
Hartland, nestling on the tip of the Hartland Peninsula is famous for its
dramatic rock formations at Hartland Quay and the breathtaking waterfall
at Spekes Mill. Children simply love the golden sands at Instow and Westward
Ho! If you wish to experience traditional English country life, there are
many places to stay in and around rural villages and hamlets including Abbotsham,
Buckland Brewer, Alwington, Horns Cross, Parkham, Woolsery (Woolfardisworthy).
The Cavalier Town of Great Torrington, market towns of Holsworthy &
South Molton, holiday resorts of Ilfracombe, Combe Martin, and popular surfing
hotspots Woolacombe and Croyde are all within easy reach. North Devon's
commercial centre, Barnstaple, is thirty minutes away, Exmoor National Park
approximately one hour and the Island of Lundy can be visited by boat or
helicopter. The Hartland and North Devon Heritage Coast is designated as
an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. There are many holiday parks in the
area including Bideford
Bay and the nearest Butlins
is just over the Bay at Minehead.

TYPE OF ACCOMMODATION - No.5 Forest Gardens is a delightful cottage
in the quiet village of Bucks Mills within a conservation area on
the edge of beautiful Bideford Bay. It provides a good base for exploring
Bideford, Barnstaple, Clovelly and Westward-Ho!, and is also close
to Hartland Quay, The Tarka Trail etc. Lundy Island can be visited
by boat from Bideford. An honest 5 minutes walk from the cottage,
the path leads you passed the old lime kilns to a pebbly, sandy beach
with lovely rock pools and safe swimming. The North Devon Coast Path
crosses the village, leading to Clovelly in one direction and through
the woods to Peppercombe in the other. Although there isn't a pub
in the village, there are several within a few minutes drive of the
cottage. Available all year. Sleeps 4 + cot. Short breaks (min 2 days)
out of season or at short notice from £65 per night. 10% discount
to previous visitors. We have stayed in many self catering cottages
